**Position Summary**

The **Cook** is responsible for preparing nutritious and appetizing meals for residents while following established recipes, food safety standards, and portion control procedures. This role requires the ability to work in a high-pressure environment, both independently and as part of a team.

**Essential Functions**

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Serve food following established portion control procedures.
• Ensure food is cooked at proper temperatures and complete required checklists and logs.
• Assist with inventory management and receiving deliveries.
• Work with the **Executive Chef/Chef Manager** to coordinate menus and special requests.
• Adapt schedule when necessary to accommodate urgent situations.
• Follow all **safe food handling procedures** , including proper glove use.
• Perform daily and scheduled cleaning tasks according to company policies.
• Adhere to **therapeutic and mechanically altered diet guidelines** as required.

Qualifications

**Qualifications**

• **1 year of cooking experience**
• Fluent in **English (reading, writing, and speaking)**
• Strong **communication skills** across all levels of the organization
• Passion for working with **geriatric residents** and understanding their special needs
• Ability to **follow directions, multi-task, and work collaboratively** as part of a team
• **ServSafe certification is desirable**
  
  

**Education Requirement**

• **High school diploma or GED**

**Physical Demands**

• Must be able to stand for extended periods
• Must be able to lift up to **50 pounds**
