What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driller position at Palmetto Rock Services?
Palmetto Rock Services, Inc. was formed in 1992 as a specialty subcontractor based in Spartanburg, South Carolina to provide full service rock drilling and blasting services to the construction and mining industries in the Carolinas and Georgia.
Palmetto Rock is currently searching for Driller Operators
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre/post shift inspection of equipment.
- Operate drill in a safe manner per manufacturer specifications.
- Understand drill pattern laid out by blaster and drill holes to correct depth.
- Fill drill logs out correctly and communicate any issues or problems encountered while drilling.
- Report drill footage and hours to Project Manager, Quarry Manager, and Construction D&B Manager daily.
- Train on multiple drill rigs
Qualifications:
- Prior experience running heavy equipment preferred - willing to train
- OSHA & MSHA training preferred
- must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- must be willing and able to travel to other project sites throughout the southeast US as needed
Work Environment:
Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
