Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered and within scope of practice.
- Perform clinical procedures including specimen collection, EKGs, wound care, dressing changes, and point-of-care testing.
- Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes or concerns to the provider.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, follow-up care, and preventive health measures.
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prescription refills, and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment according to infection control and safety standards.
- Follow clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and infection prevention protocols.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies within the clinic setting.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings as required.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, families, providers, and staff.
Non-Essential Duties
- Assist with orientation and training of new clinical staff.
- Support front office operations during periods of high patient volume.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
