Palmetto Playhouse Beaufort is a boutique, Montessori-inspired indoor play space for children ages 0–6 and their caregivers. We are seeking an energetic, reliable, and highly organized Front Desk & Play Floor Associate to serve as the welcoming face of our playhouse. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, provide exceptional customer service to families, and support daily playhouse operations to ensure a safe, clean, and calm environment. Your warm personality, strong communication skills, and attention to detail will help create a positive first impression for every family who walks through our doors. Responsibilities
- Greet families warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in, waivers, memberships, and bookings
- Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk responding to customer inquiries professionally
- Manage bookings, payments, and customer accounts using the point-of-sale and scheduling system (Wix POS)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and seating area
- Monitor the play floor to ensure safety rules are followed and assist families as needed
- Perform light cleaning and sanitizing of toys, surfaces, and play areas between sessions
- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures
- Support basic administrative tasks including inventory tracking, supply restocking, and simple data entry
- Communicate clearly with management regarding incidents, maintenance needs, or customer feedback
- Help maintain a calm, respectful, and family-friendly environment aligned with Palmetto Playhouse values
Experience
- Prior experience in customer service, childcare, hospitality, or front desk roles preferred but not required
- Comfortable working with young children and caregivers in a professional and friendly manner
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and stay detail-oriented
- Basic computer literacy and confidence using booking, POS, and email systems
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow safety and cleanliness procedures
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the play space for extended periods
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
- Experience in childcare centers, preschools, pediatric offices, or family-focused businesses is a plus
