Job Summary:
Palmetto Kidz School Shuttle LLC is seeking reliable and safety-conscious Independent Driver Contractors (1099) to transport children safely to and from school, extracurricular activities, and other designated locations. Drivers will use their own vehicles and are responsible for maintaining professional standards of safety, punctuality, and customer service while representing Palmetto Kidz School Shuttle.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely transport children to and from school, after-school programs, and other approved locations.
- Ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs according to assigned schedules.
- Maintain communication with parents/guardians and dispatch when necessary.
- Provide courteous, professional, and child-friendly service at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of personal vehicle.
- Maintain accurate mileage logs and submit required documentation for payment.
- Immediately report incidents, delays, or safety concerns to management.
Experience
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar driving role is preferred.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigating local areas efficiently.
- Experience in customer service roles, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Warehouse experience is a plus, particularly in loading/unloading operations.
- Knowledge of operating manual transmission vehicles is advantageous.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and moving tasks safely and effectively.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must own a reliable vehicle (sedan, SUV, or van preferred) in excellent working condition.
- Proof of full coverage auto insurance (liability, collision, and comprehensive).
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Experience working with children is highly desirable (parents, caregivers, teachers, etc. encouraged to apply).
Compensation
- Paid per mile driven and per assignment completed.
- Contractors are responsible for their own taxes (1099 status).
- Fuel, insurance, and vehicle maintenance are the responsibility of the contractor.
