Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our dental team and ensuring a comfortable experience for our patients. This role requires proficiency in various dental procedures and a strong understanding of dental terminology and infection control protocols.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards.
- Take medical imaging, including X-rays, ensuring accurate positioning and exposure settings.
- Maintain patient records using dental software systems ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes as needed.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and HIPAA compliance.
- Experience with dental software system.
- Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate patient records.
