We are seeking a strategic Controller to lead the financial operations of our dual-channel manufacturing and retail business. This role is designed for a leader who can bridge the gap between compliance and forward-looking business intelligence. This hands-on leadership position serves as the guardian of fiscal integrity, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and data-driven strategic financial guidance that supports executive decision-making and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Controllership: Direct all accounting operations, including month-end close and internal controls. Ensure 100% GAAP compliance and serve as the primary liaison for annual audits and tax preparation.
- Cost Accounting: Partner with plant leadership to maintain standard costing, perform variance analysis and optimize product margins.
- Business Intelligence & FP&A: Transform raw data into actionable strategy by overseeing the development of BI dashboards and AI-driven forecasting tools. Own the annual budgeting process and track KPIs across sales, production, and supply chain.
- Operational Risk & Inventory Control: Oversee compliance with robust controls for inventory management across multiple sites. Direct the continuous optimization and execution of established cycle counting, turns, and obsolescence mitigation programs to ensure sustained asset protection and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; Active CPA or CMA license strongly preferred.
- Experience: 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership, specifically within a manufacturing or retail environment. Proven experience leading a team is required.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft D365, NetSuite, SAP, or Sage) and advanced Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Soft Skills: A proactive problem-solver with a "business partner" mindset and the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
