What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Palmetto Adult and Children's Urology?
Job Purpose:
Generates revenue by reducing A/R; monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts; making payment arrangements; collection accounts; track denial trends; point of contact for patient inquires; generalized support to the Billing Manager
Duties:
- Post insurance checks and make necessary adjustments based on EOPs
- Understand CPT Codes and modifiers and be able to apply knowledge appropriately
- Point of contact for patients in office and on the phone in regards to their bills or any insurance questions
- Process and track insurance appeals, preauthorization, and claims
- Work a charges A/R report monthly

Excellent Communication, Documenting Skills Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Insurance knowledge, General Math Skills, Conflict Resolution, Good Phone Skills, Ability to Work Independently, CPC Preferred
