Title: Operations Manager
Reports To: Director of Sales & Operations
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commissary kitchen and catering services, managing the logistics for the teams responsible for pack-out, delivery, maintenance, and transportation. Key responsibilities include staff management, pack-out coordination, asset and inventory management, building operations, van procurement, and maintenance, as well as fostering collaboration across departments. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a passion for culinary excellence, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise Operations Staff, ensuring clarity of roles and expectations.
- Develop and maintain training manuals and job descriptions.
- Manage staff scheduling and hours tracking for weekly payroll and reports
- Foster a positive work environment and facilitate collaborative relationships.
Pack-out & Transport
- Oversee daily pack-out and transportation of prepared foods and gourmet-to-go order and offsite catering to various locations.
- Ensure timely and quality deliveries, both onsite and offsite.
- Track loss or damages and ensure proper post-event procedures.
- Assist with deliveries as needed.
Asset & Inventory Management
- Manage receiving, purchasing, and inventory control processes.
- Monitor product pricing, profitability, and monthly inventory.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely submission of invoices.
Building Operations & Maintenance
- Supervise dish and maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain facility cleanliness and compliance.
- Manage ordering and inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Oversee maintenance team and repair of Palmer’s Commissary equipment
Van Operations
- Oversee van assignments & delivery schedules
- Oversee van cleaning and maintenance
- Assist with purchase/rental of new vans as needed
- Collaborate with management on proper registrations
Collaboration
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with department heads.
- Facilitate open communication and problem-solving across teams.
- Provide training on new protocols and equipment.
Holiday Duties
- Manage all holiday operations including set-up, pack-out, pick-up and breakdown

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, with a focus on operations management, logistics, and/or culinary services.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, health codes, and industry standards.
- Experience in staff management, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management software
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and comfort driving and maneuvering large delivery vans.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, and engage in physical tasks associated with delivery logistics.
