What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assistant position at Palmer House Productions?
Production Assistant & Content Creator – Palmer House Productions
Location: Pacific Northwest (Seattle/Bellevue/Portland area) – Hybrid (In-Office On-Set)
Hours: Part-time, 20 hours/week (Flexible shifts, morning or evening)
Compensation: $20–$25/hour (based on experience)
The Reality of This Role
We don't just make videos; we solve business problems with them. Palmer House Productions is a strategic video production company that helps business owners turn their invisible expertise into visible proof. We build video systems—from high-end brand films to evergreen training libraries and scroll-stopping short-form content.
Our founder, Jevoy Palmer, is a filmmaker, strategist, and storyteller who naturally thinks in systems. We operate multiple ventures simultaneously, so we prioritize clarity, efficiency, and creative problem-solving that scales.
We are looking for a Production Assistant & Content Creator to join the team. But honestly, we are looking for a clone of Jevoy—or at least someone who thinks like him. You will be wearing two main hats: acting as the driving force behind the Palmer House social media presence and serving as an essential extra set of hands on professional video shoots.
If you need hand-holding, this is not the role for you. If you see a problem, figure out a system to fix it, and present the solution before being asked, you will thrive here.
What You Will Actually Do
•Content Creation & Management: You will be the engine behind Palmer House Productions' own social media presence. You will take Jevoy's long-form videos, ideas, and frameworks and turn them into engaging short-form content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) and written posts that hook the scroll and keep people watching.
•On-Set Production Assistance: You will join Jevoy on local video shoots. You will be the extra set of hands—helping with gear, managing the schedule, reading the room to ensure the client is comfortable, and ensuring the shoot runs like a well-oiled machine.
•AI Integration: You will actively use AI tools (like Manus, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to streamline workflows, draft copy, organize ideas, and speed up the editing process. You don't just know what AI is; you use it daily to multiply your output.
•Systems Thinking: You will help document processes. If we do something twice, we need a system for it. You will help build the "back office" of our content engine.
Who You Are
•A Self-Starter: You do not wait to be told what to do. You see the goal and figure out the path to get there. You have a strong work ethic and the resilience to handle the unglamorous parts of production.
•Socially Aware: You know how to read a room. You understand group dynamics, can adjust your communication style on set, and know when to step up and when to step back.
•Consistently Energized: Small creative teams require consistent energy. You bring a steady, positive presence to both remote work and long days on set.
•Video-Literate: You have a solid understanding of the photo/video industry. You know your way around a camera and basic lighting setups.
•A Social Native (Bonus): You have a strong personal social media presence or have managed successful accounts before. You understand hooks, pacing, and what makes people stop scrolling.
•An Editor (Bonus): You know how to chop up a video in Premiere, Final Cut, or CapCut efficiently.
Why This Role Matters
Jevoy is taking hats off his head so he can focus on high-level strategy and client acquisition. You are the person catching those hats. By managing the Palmer House content engine and assisting on shoots, you are directly contributing to the growth of the company and freeing up the founder to scale.
How to Apply
To apply, please send us the following:
