Responsibilities
• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and corporations
• Review returns prepared by staff for accuracy and compliance
• Lead client consultations on tax planning and proactive strategies
• Manage and mentor tax preparers
• Stay current with tax laws and regulatory changes
• Participate in bookkeeping reviews to provide tax expertise
Qualifications
• CPA license required
• Minimum 5 years of tax preparation experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts independently and collaboratively
• Experience with Tax Dome & ProConnect a plus
• Bookkeeping knowledge beneficial
Day-to-Day
• Oversee and support staff preparers with quality control of tax returns
• Prepare both personal and corporate tax returns
• Communicate with clients to explain results and provide proactive tax strategies (e.g., under-withholding corrections, expense tracking)
• Engage in year-round client relationships, including tax strategy and business development consultations
• Note: Position is 100% in-person during tax season; hybrid flexibility may be available outside of tax season
