Palmer Hamilton, LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Lead to support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations. The Warehouse Lead will provide hands-on leadership to the warehouse team, ensuring efficient material handling, accurate inventory control, and adherence to safety standards. This role combines direct operational duties, such as forklift operation and order fulfillment, with leadership responsibilities, including training, delegating tasks, and ensuring operational goals are met. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, staging, and shipping materials.
- Provide direction to warehouse employees during shifts to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and safely.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track and update inventory in real time.
- Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring warehouse employees to ensure proper processes and safe practices are followed.
- Monitor productivity and quality standards, providing feedback to employees and reporting performance concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
- Oversee order picking, staging, and shipment preparation to ensure customer requirements and deadlines are met.
- Conduct cycle counts and participate in inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
- Promote and enforce adherence to safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, ensuring work areas are orderly and free of hazards.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors, peers, and other departments to coordinate work and resolve issues.
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements for efficiency, safety, and accuracy.
- Serve as acting supervisor in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of warehouse experience, including forklift operation and use of RF scanners; prior leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory tracking processes.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to delegate tasks, coach and motivate team members, and resolve conflicts constructively.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly, and occasionally more with assistance; must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and management.
- Other Requirements: Commitment to workplace safety and professionalism; flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted shifts as needed to meet operational demands.
