What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Mold Assembly (No Bake) position at Palmer Foundry?
Seeking a self-motivated individual with good teamwork and communication skills who wants to be part of a successful No Bake molding team. You will learn how to create No Bake molds, which involves preparing the sand mixture, compacting it against a pattern (a model of the desired casting) and allowing it to harden; and then meticulously inspecting the molded product to ensure it meets specific quality standards.
Duties:
- Identify correct mold box for job
- Clean, vacuum, and spray release on mold box
- Install chills, locators, and hooks per spec
- Install risers (cut to fit if required) per spec
- Add appropriate serial number per customer order or product spec
- Operate sand system to fill old
- Ram mold per spec
- Perform PMs and daily maintenance on sand system as required
- Provide assistance to mold assembler
- Clean and maintain area
- Attend production meetings
- Move empty and complete molds
- Complete all paperwork
- Enter data into computer
- Complete department safety sheets
- Perform other duties or assignments as directed by management
Education/Experience:
No specific education or certification is required, however, high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and write English
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure., using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software for reviewing work instructions.

Shift schedule is 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
This position may require access to export-controlled technology or software source code that is subject to export controls restrictions under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) and will therefore be required to meet eligibility criteria under ITAR and EAR regulations.
