Student Employment Opportunity: Fitness Center Monitor
**This position is for current Palmer College of Chiropractic students only.
Function:
The Fitness Center Monitor is responsible for monitoring both the weight and cardiovascular rooms in the recreation center.
Organizational Relationship:
Responsible to the Athletic & Recreation Coordinator in the Student Services Department for successful performance of assigned duties.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor all activity in both rooms
Provide a safe and positive environment
Enforcement of all Fitness Center rules, policies and procedures
Interact with members in a respectful and professional fashion
Make yourself available for spotting and other member concerns
Maintain a clean and orderly fitness center
Each shift has a responsibility to clean a certain area of the rooms
Always follow the daily cleaning routine
Follow emergency procedures in case of injury
Check out and secure all equipment issued to members
Equip will not be issued until an ID is given at the desk
Monitor a respectable volume on the stereo
Staff are responsible for working all scheduled shifts
Individuals must contact Ron if they must miss a shift
Arrangements must be made well in advance
All staff should share in responsibilities
Log all hours worked on the log sheet
Have all members sign in on the check-in sheet
Help monitor safety in the auditorium by making routine checks around the facility
Must wear the fitness center jacket or shirt during all shifts
No one is allowed to work out during their shift
Requirements & Skills:
Must be certified in CPR and First Aid
Must be able to lift, move and clean equipment
Must possession good interpersonal skills in order to check ID’s and greet gym guests
