Shipping and Receiving Clerk

 Palmer Candy is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at our Hwy 75 location. 

1^st shift will work Monday-Friday. Monday-Thursday hours are 6:00 am- 4:30 pm with Friday hours varying from 6 to 10-hour shifts. Saturday hours may be scheduled due to business needs. 

Team Member’s will be notified by plant management if schedules were to change outside of the times listed above. 

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for managing the inbound and outbound flow of products, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company regulations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check drivers in and out accurately. 
• Provide professional and courteous customer service to carriers and internal teams.
• Inspect shipments for damaged cases or pallets and document issues.
• Assist with receiving, verifying, and recording incoming shipments in WMS/SAP systems
• Support the Warehouse Manager, Logistics Supervisor, and Warehouse Assistant with daily operations
• Operate a forklift safely as needed to move pallets or materials.
• Maintain accurate records in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as other warehouse systems
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations
• Work overtime as required.
• Regular and timely attendance is required for this job. 

Qualifications

Required: 

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to safely operate a forklift in a manufacturing environment

Preferred:

• Previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or food industry setting
• Familiarity with WMS and SAP systems (SAP experience preferred)
• Experience using scanning guns or handheld inventory devices
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds occasionally and up to 28 pounds frequently, following proper lifting techniques
• Perform repetitive motions, including lifting, carrying, and handling materials, safely throughout the shift
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods and safely enter and exit forklifts
• May be exposed to vibration, jarring, or sudden movements during loading and unloading of trailers
