Are you dependable, patient, and looking for a meaningful part-time job? Palmer Bus Service is looking for a reliable Van Driver to safely transport students to and from school in the Shakopee area.
This position is about more than driving. You’ll be responsible for the safety and well-being of students, including students with disabilities. We are looking for someone who takes that responsibility seriously and can be counted on every day.
What You’ll Do
- Safely transport students to and from school and other scheduled destinations
- Provide a safe, calm, and supportive environment for students
- Work with children who may have physical, developmental, behavioral, or other disabilities
- Follow all student transportation and safety procedures
- Complete a mandatory vehicle check before leaving the vehicle at every stop — including checking the entire vehicle to ensure no child is left behind
- Assist students as needed when entering and exiting the vehicle
- Communicate professionally with students, families, school staff, and Palmer Bus Service
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle
- Follow all company, school district, and state safety requirements

Dependability is essential. Students rely on their driver to show up on time and ready to work. This is not a position where you can simply “call in” when the schedule gets inconvenient.
Schedule
Monday–Friday
Approximately 6:45–9:00 AM and 2:30–4:15 PM
Guaranteed 2 hours of pay for the morning and 2 hours for the afternoon.
Midday routes may also be available, typically between 11:00 AM–1:00 PM.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Must meet all applicable student transportation requirements
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is helpful, but not required
