Desert Publications, Inc., publisher of Palm Springs Life, is looking for a Production Coordinator who will be responsible for assisting in and ensuring that a variety of graphic and advertising production projects in the print and web mediums are completed on deadline. Must be quick, efficient, skills in Microsoft Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and design software primarily Adobe Creative Suite including Media Encoder, and able to successfully juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conducting daily meetings to ensure that staff is aware of looming deadlines
- Preparing daily priority lists, weekly project status reports and project budgets
- Regularly tracking and updating project statuses
- Develop work schedules for various departments to ensure that projects and processes are kept on schedule
- Identify potential problems to project teams and recommend solutions
- Creating timelines, instructions, and breakdowns for future projects
- Informing project teams of any updates and changes as and when they occur
- Organizing, implementing/executing page production of varies publications from inception to final press format, resulting in meeting press deadlines
- Collaborate with various departments within the organization including Editorial, Sales, Product, Events, and Marketing on design layouts, page production, and corrections for various monthly and custom magazines and Palm Springs Life events
- Assist with content proofing and approval
- Assist in preparation of final press files for digital conversion
- Ability to format TV specs and audio assets and traffic to media outlets
- Additional duties as assigned by manager
- Identify opportunities to adjust and revise work processes to increase efficiency
Job Qualifications – Education and Experience
- 1-2 years of production/traffic coordination
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
- Sound knowledge of project management software
- Proven experience developing schedules and timelines for projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- The ability to multi-task
- The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Thorough knowledge of Mac desktop computer and Adobe Creative Suite including Media Encoder
- Experience with CRM software programs is a plus
- Must have good eye for type, style and detail
- Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
- Able to work effectively as a team member
- Able to correspond professionally in person, phone and email.
