Clinical Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient visits
- Escort patients to exam rooms, verify patient identity, obtain and document vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed
- Administer immunizations, injections, and medications under the providers supervision and according to state and clinic policy
- Perform EKGs, vision tests, and other diagnostic screenings as required
- Collect and process lab specimens; ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely charting in the EHR, ensuring all information is complete prior to provider review
- Conduct pre-charting and ensure all required documentation, lab results, and preventive care items are updated prior to visits
- Participate in care coordination, follow-up on provider orders, referrals, and test results
- Support patient education on chronic disease management, preventive care, and treatment plans
- Manage patient check-in/check-out procedures when needed
- Handle phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure all messages contain complete information for provider review (symptoms, duration, medications, etc.)
- Schedule, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments as directed
- Maintain medical inventory and order supplies as necessary
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Accurately complete pre-charting prior to patient appointments
- Follow up on patient messages and care coordination tasks within designated timelines
- Demonstrate adherence to managed care protocols and quality indicators (HEDIS, Stars, etc.)
- Maintain a professional demeanor and contribute to a positive patient experience
- Always ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

- A minimum of one year work experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
- Phlebotomy EKG and PFT Injection administration (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year
- ECW: 1 year (Required)
- Bilingual is a plus
- Knowledge of Managed Care (Preferred)
- Hedis (Preferred)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
- May require prolonged period of standing, walking and bending
- Ability to move/lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Must be able to move/assist with moving patients
