What You'll Do
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality respiratory and cardiopulmonary care while working as an important member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform respiratory treatments and diagnostic procedures according to physician orders
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, airway clearance therapies, and other respiratory treatments
- Assist with ventilator management and advanced respiratory support
- Provide respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Monitor patient response to treatments and communicate changes to the healthcare team
- Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow hospital safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered respiratory care
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
- Current Illinois Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility
- New graduates may be considered with a letter of authority while completing state licensing requirements
- Current ACLS certification
Preferred:
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
