What You'll Do

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality respiratory and cardiopulmonary care while working as an important member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform respiratory treatments and diagnostic procedures according to physician orders
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, airway clearance therapies, and other respiratory treatments
• Assist with ventilator management and advanced respiratory support
• Provide respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Monitor patient response to treatments and communicate changes to the healthcare team
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Follow hospital safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered respiratory care

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
• Current Illinois Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility
• New graduates may be considered with a letter of authority while completing state licensing requirements
• Current ACLS certification

Preferred:

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
