Palm Coast Sales is a high growth sales and distribution business that partners with customers and premium brands to deliver exceptional products and experiences that elevate outdoor living. We currently distribute 8 different brands of grills and outdoor living products in the Southeast and Western US.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated sales representative to join our team in the Central California market who is passionate about the outdoor cooking and outdoor living space and is interested in representing outdoor living products. This individual must have an ‘ownership’ mindset as the leader of all sales relationships in his or her territory, and will be responsible for engaging with retail store owners and buyers as well as retail sales associates to drive sales growth across the dealer base. Current brands we represent in this territory include Big Green Egg (grills and accessories), Napoleon (grills, outdoor fire products, and electric fireplaces), and Tagwood (grills and accessories).
The ideal candidate will be experienced in relationship/consultative selling, have a passion for building relationships, and is motivated to grow business in the high-end specialty retail and hardware retail environment. The position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing role and is comfortable traveling throughout the assigned territory 4-5 days a week with travel to vendor trade shows at times throughout the year. This candidate also must be excited to help execute cooking demo events and other activations on weekends.
This is a full-time position based in California with a territory covering Central California.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners through a ‘customer first’ mindset, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships and expanding company product footprint within existing customers. Work with customers on warranty, freight, and other issues as they arise and drive to successful resolution.
- Sales Development: Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities, driving revenue growth through regular visits, live product demos, onsite product training with dealer sales teams, and tailor solutions for retail customers. Find and open new accounts and train sales staff. Secure completed new dealer paperwork to establish account with Palm Coast Sales.
- Product Knowledge: Stay well-informed about the company’s products and services, ensuring you can effectively communicate benefits and value propositions to retail clients as well as get involved with dealer sales staff and do training with key associates within the retail partners. Demonstrate how to cook on and sell premium outdoor living products.
- Territory Management: Manage and prioritize a daily route to ensure timely and efficient coverage of assigned territory. Prioritize dealer visits and tasks as well as completing required reports.
- Merchandising and Promotions: Ensure that promotional materials, displays, and product placements are properly set up in-store, aligned with company standards. Aid in assembly and store set up of Palm Coast Sales products at retail store level to ensure new dealer success and understanding of how products all work together to be successful in selling.
- Reporting: Keep CRM tool up to date, and provide regular updates to the sales management team, including activity reports, customer feedback, and sales metrics.
- Customer Service and Feedback: Gather and relay customer insights and market trends to help shape product offerings and marketing strategies. Also convey issues and key challenges as they arise.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Previous Sales Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in field sales, B2B sales, and experience with outdoor living / cooking appliances is preferred.
- Entrepreneurial Self-Starter: Takes ownership of territory, and has the ability to work independently and manage time effectively while maintaining a high level of customer service and understanding time management. Willing to be “always on” for customers – we ALWAYS answer the phone!
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with a diverse customer base, through in-store visits, phone/text communications, and email.
- Transportation: Must have clean driving record, be comfortable with driving high roof van and be able to park at home residence.
- Goal-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a competitive environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using CRM software, mobile apps, and other sales tools to track activity and report results.
- Ability to Lift/Move Products: Some lifting or moving of products may be required for in-store merchandising and demo / event execution support.
- Enjoy grilling!: We work hard and spend significant time cooking on our products, as demos for end consumers, training for retail associates, and at large-scale promotional events. It feels a lot less like work when you love cooking on the grill!
