Every learner follows an individualized academic plan designed around their strengths, interests, and pace — empowering them to thrive both in and beyond the classroom. Our learning culture values curiosity, emotional well-being, confidence, and meaningful relationships as essential components of student success.

Position Summary

The Admissions Director is responsible for the full life cycle of student enrollment, from prospecting and inquiry through enrollment and re-enrollment. As the sole member of the Admissions Department, this position combines strategic planning with hands-on execution in marketing, outreach, and relationship management.

This role requires a confident communicator with a high-end consultative sales approach, capable of guiding families through an individualized admissions experience while representing PBIA’s mission, culture, and standards at the highest level. The Admissions Director works closely with the Executive Director, Head of School, and the Business Office to ensure enrollment, retention, and mission-fit targets are consistently met or exceeded.

Essential Functions

1. Direct and manage the full admissions process for recruitment, enrollment, and retention.

2. Lead with a high-end service and sales mindset that delivers a premium, ‘white-glove’ admissions experience from initial inquiry through enrollment and ongoing family engagement once enrolled.

3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with constituents, including partner schools, community organizations, consultants, and professional networks.

4. Create and articulate clear strategies and action plans to achieve annual and long-term enrollment goals.

5. Cultivate strong connections within the communities we serve to increase inquiries and qualified leads.

6. Identify and secure sponsorship and visibility opportunities—including travel opportunities—to position PBIA in high-value markets.

7. Plan, organize, and execute admission materials, marketing campaigns, campus events, and on-campus/off-campus tours for prospective students and families.

8. Partner with the Business Office to develop and maintain admissions systems and data dashboards for enrollment tracking, projections, retention metrics, and ROI analysis.

9. Manage the daily operations of the Admissions Office with efficiency, warmth, and professionalism.

10. Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Head of School and Executive Director.

Competencies

• Visionary and charismatic representative of PBIA who can build deep trust and inspire confidence in prospective families.

• Strong high-end sales instincts — understands urgency, follow-through, lead qualification, pipeline management, and value-based closing strategies.

• Consistent professionalism with the ability to partner and guide a wide range of constituents.

• Leadership that promotes teamwork, creativity, adaptability, and a high-energy, solutions-focused culture.

• Extensive experience in marketing, preferably within private school or luxury-service industries.

• Ability to develop strategies, implement operational plans, analyze outcomes, and pivot as necessary.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

• Superb written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to small and large groups.

• Passion for PBIA’s mission and a high level of organization and initiative.

• Ability to build genuine rapport with people from all backgrounds — prospective families, current families, faculty, and partners.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Admissions Director or in a similar high-level enrollment/marketing/recruitment role, ideally within a private school or high-end client service industry.

• Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with a strong growth mindset.

• Self-motivated and independently responsible.

• Reliable, decisive, flexible, outcome-oriented, and performance-driven.

• Warm, welcoming personality with an authentic sense of humor.

• Strong moral compass and personal integrity.

• Compassionate, humble, and respectful in all interactions.

• Loves animals — valued in our school culture.

Position Type / Expected Hours

This is an exempt, full-time salaried position. The role requires extended hours and frequent weekend work during peak enrollment seasons and community events.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during business hours; however, attendance and representation at sponsorship and outreach events — including horse shows, tennis tournaments, college fairs, and similar events — is expected both locally and out of state as needed.
