Position Summary
The Marketing and Events Manager leads the strategic development and execution of marketing, communications, and event operations for Palm Beach Ice. This role is essential for driving participation, increasing registrations, and maximizing facility utilization through innovative branding, partnerships, and promotional campaigns.

A creative and results-driven professional, the manager oversees social media, digital marketing, graphic design, and public relations while managing sponsorship activation and business development. The position requires exceptional project management skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced sports environment.

Collaborating with facility leadership and program directors, the manager ensures brand consistency and operational excellence to enhance visibility and revenue growth. Additionally, this role contributes to long-term strategy by identifying opportunities to expand market reach and strengthen community impact.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Marketing, Public Relations & Communications
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive marketing and communications strategies to support facility programming, tournaments, camps, leagues, special events, and revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Plan, schedule, publish, and monitor content across all social media platforms to maintain a proactive, engaging, and consistent brand presence.
  • Create and manage social media content calendars, digital campaigns, email marketing initiatives, and promotional strategies to increase participation, registrations, and customer engagement.
  • Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media communications, newsletters, and promotional content.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, and digital content creation during events to support marketing, sponsorship, and promotional initiatives.
  • Develop creative marketing concepts and storytelling strategies that strengthen brand visibility and participant engagement.
  • Oversee facility branding, website content, graphic design, and print collateral to ensure effectiveness, timeliness, accuracy, and brand consistency.
  • Design marketing materials including flyers, brochures, digital advertisements, event graphics, tournament branding, and website assets for promotional use.
  • Manage website content, updates, functionality, and integrity, ensuring all digital platforms remain accurate and current.
  • Develop and coordinate video production for website content, promotional campaigns, and social media initiatives.
  • Create and execute targeted email marketing strategies to promote leagues, camps, tournaments, skating programs, hockey programs, and facility events.
  • Maintain and manage customer email databases and digital communication platforms.

Event Management & Operations
  • Coordinate, promote, and oversee facility events, tournaments, leagues, and special programs to ensure successful execution and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Monitor in-house events while maintaining close communication with clients, facility staff, and vendors to ensure event success and timely resolution of concerns.
  • Coordinate logistics with internal departments and third-party service providers to support event operations and execution.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of event requirements and operational expectations to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in managing event photography, content capture, hospitality elements, guest experiences, and onsite promotions.
  • Develop innovative event concepts and experiences designed to increase attendance, customer retention, and facility engagement.

Sponsorship & Business Development
  • Collaborate with national, regional, and local brands to develop strategic youth sports marketing and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Assist in creating sponsorship concepts, activation platforms, experiential marketing initiatives, and brand storytelling campaigns.
  • Oversee sponsorship activation and fulfillment across tournaments, leagues, camps, special events, and facility programming.
  • Develop sponsorship recap reports, analytics, ROI tracking, and partnership measurement strategies.
  • Coordinate branded content creation, hospitality experiences, social media integrations, fan engagement initiatives, and onsite sponsor activations.
  • Build authentic partnerships that connect brands with youth sports families and the local community.
  • Participate in sponsorship presentations, partnership meetings, and business development initiatives.
  • Prepare sponsorship proposals, activation plans, partnership decks, and marketing presentations.
  • Identify new partnership and sponsorship opportunities across youth sports, sports technology, wellness, family-focused brands, and consumer products.

Website, Graphic Design & Digital Media
  • Maintain all facility websites and digital assets, ensuring accuracy, relevancy, functionality, and visual consistency.
  • Create and manage facility-wide graphic design and print media for promotions, tournaments, leagues, programs, and special events.
  • Develop digital and print marketing materials that align with organizational branding standards.
  • Support short-form video creation, editing, and digital storytelling for social media and marketing campaigns.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in sports marketing, event management, sponsorship, experiential marketing, venue operations, or youth sports environments.
  • Experience managing live events, tournaments, and operational logistics in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong understanding of grassroots and youth sports ecosystems preferred.
  • Experience in sponsorship activation, partnership management, or brand integration preferred.
  • Sports background including playing, coaching, or sports administration experience preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems, digital marketing platforms, email marketing, and customer engagement systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated professional with strong initiative, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining independent accountability.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Technical Proficiencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Lightroom preferred.
  • Experience with Canva, CapCut, and other creative design/video platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency managing social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and emerging platforms.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact,Hub Spot or comparable systems preferred.
  • Website content management and digital platform experience preferred.

Schedule Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days as required.
  • Willingness to travel for tournaments, events, partnership meetings, and facility-related initiatives as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary**: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00/year
