Job Summary
This on-call General Laborer position performs a variety of work tasks in the field to execute client contracts managed by
the WELD Works division of WELD. Weld Works is an Employee Social Enterprise designed to help individuals overcome
barriers to employment, gain job experience, and help establish economic stability.
Field work will vary between different contracts and could include, but are not limited to: Landscaping, debris removal,
graffiti abatement, property maintenance, and green stormwater infrastructure projects. This work is designed to improve
public safety and environmental health in our communities. We are looking for motivated individuals who bring a strong
work ethic, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
Field Work (90%)
Review client service agreements with Field Operations Manager and Crew Leader to understand daily tasks for
each contract
Conduct exterior litter abatement and debris removal services to keep public spaces clean
Remove invasive plant species and maintain vegetation
Safely use hand, electric and/or gas-powered tools to trim hedges, mow and edge lawns, and trim branches
Remove graffiti using methods such as scraping, solvents, and repainting
Interior janitorial work including cleaning surfaces, emptying garbage, cleaning and restocking bathrooms, and
mopping
Green Stormwater Infrastructure activities such as urban forestry, building and/or servicing cisterns, grattix box
installation, and swale management
Participate in all site specific and additional safety trainings provided by WELD Works. Follow safety protocols and
procedures while working and operating equipment
Work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions
Customer Service & Representing WELD (10%)
Represent WELD & WELD Works on the job site or while in the community. Be able to articulate WELDs Mission
and direct inquiries to the appropriate WELD Works Staff
Provide customer service and build report with clients on the job site
Share WELD Works Marketing materials and direct community members to our website when individuals show
interest in our services
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains
Experience using or willingness to be trained on electric and gas-powered tools
Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Adaptability to changing tasks and work environments
Commitment to safety and professionalism
Strong verbal and phone communication skills
Lived experience with incarceration, recovery, or homelessness strongly valued and encouraged
Required Qualifications
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work
Ability to stand, walk and work on uneven terrain for extended periods
Must complete and pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings
