Duties
- Perform thorough patient examinations, including medical and dental history reviews, oral assessments, and diagnostic imaging using medical imaging technology.
- Deliver a wide range of dental treatments such as dental restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and endodontics with precision and care.
- Utilize dental terminology accurately to communicate treatment plans effectively with patients and team members.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and legal standards.
- Use Dentrix dental office management software for scheduling, charting, billing, and patient data management.
- Collaborate with the dental team on four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in general dentistry, including anatomy knowledge and new treatment modalities.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic or dental office environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures.
- Hands-on experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and practices is a plus but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology with patients and team members.
- Commitment to infection control standards and HIPAA compliance in all aspects of patient care.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health conditions.
