Truck Upfitting MIG Welding Fabricator

At PALFINGER in Trenton, NJ, your day starts with a build plan and a sense of purpose. You review drawings, confirm specs, and prep materials. By mid-morning, your MIG torch is humming as you fit and weld sub-assemblies. In the afternoon, you mount and integrate equipment onto truck chassis, verify dimensions using GD&T fundamentals, and complete quality checks to AWS standards. You finish the shift by documenting production, tidying your work area, and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.

• Execute MIG welds on sub-assemblies, completed assemblies, and truck equipment installations to meet AWS requirements and internal quality targets.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and SOPs to deliver precise, on-spec installations.
• Operate and maintain welding and fabrication tools: MIG, TIG, stick, oxy/acetylene, carbon arc, and common hand/power tools.
• Inspect completed welds and mounted equipment for safety, accuracy, and finish; correct deviations proactively.
• Record production data, uphold housekeeping standards, and participate in process improvements that boost safety, quality, and efficiency.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of technical, hands-on experience with a solid mechanical foundation.
• Proficiency with MIG welding and core fabrication tools.
• Ability to read and apply blueprints/drawings, safety procedures, and equipment instructions.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills, including measurements, ratios, and geometry.
