Position Overview
We are looking for a caring and reliable individual to provide in-home respite support for a kind and imaginative 6-year-old girl diagnosed with autism. She loves creative play such as arts and crafts, drawing, puzzles, and spending time with her dolls. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys interactive, hands-on activities and can help maintain a peaceful and structured environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the child’s safety at all times
- Participate in engaging activities that match her interests
- Support a consistent, calm, and nurturing atmosphere
- Follow established routines and guidance from parents
Requirements
- Previous experience with children is preferred
- Familiarity with autism spectrum needs is beneficial but not required
- Dependable, patient, and positive demeanor
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to complete and pass a background screening
Schedule & Details
- Days: Saturdays and Sundays
- Hours: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM (6 total hours per week)
- Location: Eau Claire, Wisconsin
- Employment Type: Part-time
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $16.80/hour
- Funded through the Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program

This position is supported through CLTS funding. While Palco helps facilitate hiring, the individual or family receiving services will act as the employer. More specifics will be shared during the onboarding process.
