Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demos and recommendations
• Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions and handle cash, credit, or digital payments
• Maintain an organized cash drawer through proper cash handling and balancing at the end of shifts
• Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales and customer satisfaction
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting
• Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Assist with merchandising efforts and product displays to attract customer attention
• Support in stocking inventory and managing product knowledge to assist customers effectively

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred, especially with POS systems and cashiering duties
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual settings (if applicable)
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are a plus for team support roles
• Basic math skills for handling transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
• Knowledge of retail store product offerings and merchandising techniques
• Ability to perform cashiering tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
• Familiarity with retail math, cash register operations, and cash drawer handling procedures
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse customers
• Experience in grocery stores or familiarity with grocery products is advantageous
