DESCRIPTION
The Palace Theatre is seeking an actor to bring the iconic role of Ebenezer Scrooge to life for the 24th year of this production. The Palace’s A Christmas Carol is a cherished annual tradition for our community, and we are excited to welcome an actor who can bring fresh energy, depth, and personality to this iconic role while honoring the spirit of the production audiences have come to love.
We are looking for an actor who is excited to step into a role with a rich history while bringing their own imagination, instincts, and creative perspective to the Palace’s Scrooge. He should be ‘hard and sharp as flint’, commanding in presence, but with a deep well of humanity underneath it all. There is wonderful room for contrast in this role, from Scrooge’s coldness and cynicism to moments of levity, surprise, and childlike perspective as his journey unfolds.
We are especially interested in a performer with strong character work, comedic timing, emotional range, and the ability to carry a production at the center of a large ensemble.

Contract Dates: November 16 – December 27, 2026. The role of Scrooge will be shared between multiple actors during the run, with exact performance schedules determined and finalized during the rehearsal process. Performers should be available for the full contract period and all scheduled performance dates.
