General Role Description
The Carpenter Foreman supports the overall efforts of the construction process, leads by example, and fosters an environment that supports the culture of Palace. Through open communication and strong leadership skills, the Carpenter Foreman will perform assigned tasks as well as supervise an assigned crew and/or set of trade partners, ensure work is performed correctly, and enforce the policies and procedures set for the jobsite. It is essential that the individual possess excellent carpentry skills as well as leadership skills needed to meaningfully contribute to the company's continuous efforts in customer satisfaction. The Carpenter Foreman will also have a passion for continuous improvement, a strong sense of accountability and an ability to partner with the jobsite's team.
This position reports to the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent and has field supervisory responsibilities of the roles Carpenter, Carpenter Helper, and Laborer.

High Level Key Responsibilities
General
- Maintain accountability for tasks assigned and hold others accountable as applicable
- Promote positive relationships between Project Team, Owner, Architect, Consultants, Trade Partners, and Vendors

- Train, coach, and mentor Carpenters, Carpenter Helpers, and Laborers
- Support the standards established for safety, cleanliness, quality, and performance and hold field staff to those same standards
- Provide leadership and direction to assigned field staff to ensure all tasks are performed accurately and to completion
- Assist the Superintendent as assigned with daily reports, as-built information, timecards, and other necessary documentation
- Interpret contract drawings, sketches, and specifications to understand the project scope and requirements
- Perform survey and measurement tasks as assigned including layout, measurements, quantity calculations, and field verifications against contract documents
- Accompany inspectors during field inspections as assigned -- document or report results to supervisor as required
- Support field supervision as assigned by performing walks for security checks, quality checks, BMP compliance, safety, cleanliness, as well as support with opening and closing the jobsite
- Perform and/or supervise the performance of various carpentry related tasks as may be required during the course of a project -- tasks include but may not be limited to cut, shape, smooth, and fit lumber, and other material according to measurements, build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items, install drywall on metal or wood framing members, cut and assemble cabinets, shelves, hardware, base, casing, backing and other items and install them where designated, repair/rebuild items as may be necessary for corrective action
- Maintain the proper and adequate tools to perform the necessary tasks on site
- Operate tools, machines, and other equipment necessary to perform the work assigned
- Assist in weekly jobsite safety meetings for contractor and trade partners
- Assist in maintaining OSHA compliance on jobsite
- Recognize safety hazards and violations and take appropriate corrective action
- Report all safety violations and near misses to supervisor
- Understand and participate as assigned in the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Plan to ensure project success of the core concepts behind the plan: Document Control, Constructability, Submittals, Trade Partner QC, QC Checklists, QC Drawings and Overlays, and Inspections (Internal and External)
- Support the team with information necessary to update status of scheduled activities
- Five years' carpentry/foreman experience
