Head Golf Professional
Responsibilities
- Head Golf Professional is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and services of the golf course.
- Assist with Outside Events along with Members and Club Events
- Oversee Merchandising by receiving, tagging and displaying all merchandise with the help of our PGM Intern and Golf Shop Assistant
- Assist with the Junior Golf Program
- Provide exceptional service to all members and guests
- Manages inventory of merchandise in the pro shop including performing a monthly Open to Buy, semi-annual merchandise sale/demo days and monthly inventory count
- Supervises maintenance of golf cart fleet and the outside service equipment including the upkeep, inventory ordering, warranty work and repairs
- Assists in social media promotions, which includes responding to online reviews, help in photography/posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and addressing any negative reviews/feedback with applicable staff for counseling when needed
- Provide service to all customers, vendors, and fellow staff in a professional manner
- Sell and promote card programs and memberships
- Resolves guest problems and is empowered to act
- Be knowledgeable with all the duties of the golf shop personnel and assist whenever needed
- Oversee Player Service Operations including training and day to day services.
- Manages golf operations staff by recruiting, selecting, hiring, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, supervising, evaluating and carrying out disciplinary action as necessary in accordance with Pala Mesa Resort policies and applicable laws
- Market the golf program by creating and developing promotions and special events through advertising, coupons
- Assist golf shop employees with their various duties
- Prepare the daily and financial reports
- Provide and maintain superior customer service in accordance with Resort standards and practices
- Complete daily checklists and ensure required procedures are performed in accordance with Resort policies and procedures
- Perform periodic inspections of the Pro-shop and surrounding areas to ensure that they are maintained according to Resort standards
Qualifications:
Must be willing and flexible enough to work at least 40 hours per week, including weekends and most holidays- Class A Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership
- Experience working at a resort facility is a plus
- Experience with budget implementation
- Experience Golf Revue knowledge
- Experience in Daily Fee/Resort Operations preferred
- 2 year minimum college education preferred
- 4 year minimum experience as an Assistant Golf Professional
- Opportunity to give golf lessons
- Golf operation experience to include at a minimum outside service or golf shop experience
- Must be PGA Level 2
- Head professional must be a PGA Member
- Possess a friendly demeanor and a positive attitude
- Must be a team player with knowledge of golf operations and thrive in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting and scheduling, and the reporting of financial data.
- Knowledge of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes and strategies (including sales cycles and trends, account management, pricing, and inventory management).
