The Kennel Technician provides compassionate daily care for dogs, cats, and other species under the direction of the Kennel Manager. This role supports animal health, comfort, and cleanliness through routine medication administration, basic treatments, enrichment, sanitation, and accurate recordkeeping, with opportunities to progress to Kennel Technician Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs, cats, and other species.
- Clean kennels and maintain sanitation standards.
- Follow feeding schedules and monitor animal intake.
- Administer routine medications and provide basic treatments.
- Monitor animal behavior and report health or welfare concerns.
- Implement exercise and enrichment routines.
- Support grooming activities and intake processing.
- Maintain accurate animal care records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in animal care.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of animal handling and canine and feline behavior.
- Understanding of sanitation procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and compassionate approach to care.
