Senior Diesel Technician / Experienced Diesel Mechanic

Pal Pro Fleet Services is hiring an experienced, hands-on diesel technician to serve as a working foreman. You’ll turn wrenches, diagnose difficult problems, and make sure repairs meet our quality standards. You’ll manage the mechanics in the garage and report to management. This is a chance to take ownership of shop quality and workflow as our company grows.

You’ll work on heavy-duty trucks, fleet vehicles, and related equipment in our shop and at customer sites. We’re a growing Charleston-area company building a strong operation, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job right and wants a real voice in how the work gets done.

What you’ll do

- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, fleet vehicles, and equipment

- Troubleshoot engines, electrical and drivability concerns, aftertreatment, brakes, suspension, and hydraulic systems

- Use professional scan tools and OEM diagnostic software to identify problems and verify repairs

- Perform shop repairs and mobile or on-site service

- Explain findings, repair options, and recommendations clearly

- Work independently while communicating with the team about priorities and progress

- Help maintain an organized, safe shop and consistent repair quality

- Manage the mechanics in the garage and report to company management

- Perform diagnostics and quality control on trucks and machines repaired by the shop

- Help coordinate shop workflow and maintain consistent repair quality

- Share your knowledge with other technicians and help the team improve

What we’re looking for

- Strong, recent experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks

- The ability to troubleshoot complex problems and complete repairs with limited supervision

- A professional tool set suited to the work

- A valid driver’s license

- Reliability, sound judgment, and a professional approach with customers and coworkers

Experience with heavy equipment, construction machinery, hydraulics, DiagnosticLink, Cummins INSITE, or other OEM platforms is valuable. ASE or OEM certifications, a CDL, and prior lead or foreman experience are welcome, but certifications and a foreman title are not substitutes for strong hands-on ability.

Pay and benefits

$43–$52 per hour - based on skill and experience
