Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Assistant Manager role based in Fairfax, VA. The Assistant Manager will help oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling support, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role will assist in supervising team members on shift, providing coaching, direction, and support to ensure excellent guest service and efficient service times. The Assistant Manager will monitor food quality, portion control, and adherence to company standards and health regulations. Additional responsibilities include handling customer concerns, supporting cash handling and basic reporting, and partnering with the General Manager to meet sales and operational goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in restaurant or retail supervision, leading teams during shifts, and supporting daily operations.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to handle guest concerns professionally and maintain a positive dining experience.
- Basic knowledge of food service standards, safety, and sanitation practices, with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members and managers in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including multitasking and prioritizing during busy periods.
- Comfort with basic math and cash handling procedures; prior experience with point-of-sale systems is a plus.
