We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adult Peer Support Specialist to join our team. The Adult Peer Support Specialist will utilize their skills in crisis intervention and motivational interviewing to foster a supportive environment that promotes recovery and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients to engage in their treatment plans.
- Offer support to clients, helping them navigate their challenges.
- Mentor individuals by providing guidance and resources that promote personal development.
- Implement crisis management strategies effectively to address urgent situations as they arise.
- Collaborate with social work professionals and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes within the systems used by the organization.
- Stay informed about best practices in behavioral health and addiction counseling to provide the highest level of support.
Qualifications
- A background in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and mental health counseling is highly desirable.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire confidence and resilience in clients.
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and behavioral health systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Certification as either an APSS or CSA within the state of Kentucky.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
