Job Summary
Paint Hive Studio is seeking a passionate and creative Afterschool Art Class Teacher to lead engaging art sessions for K-6 students. This role is designed for individuals who love art, enjoy working with children, and want to teach fun, creative, and engaging art ideas in an after-school setting.
The teacher will be responsible for implementing structured STEAM-based lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a fun, safe, and inspiring environment for students. Responsibilities:
- Implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers a variety of art mediums, techniques, and styles
- Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations to help students develop their artistic skills and techniques
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in students
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective art program
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
- General knowledge of the practices used in art instruction; ability to communicate effectively with students and teachers; skill in the use of classroom and instructional materials.
- Ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Knowledge of child behavior and learning patterns.
- Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
- Image documentation - Collaborate with the team to create visually appealing graphics and videos that showcase our After School Art Program and other services. (Photos of children's faces are STRICTLY PROHIBITED)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Arts, Art Education, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching art to students of various ages and skill levels, from k-7th grade.
- Proficiency in a variety of art mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media
