We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform intake procedures including taking vital signs and medical history.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for patient documentation and scheduling.
- Support patient service initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience.
- Manage medical administrative tasks including ICD coding, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment to promote patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including emergency medicine and surgical departments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within healthcare settings such as clinics, hospitals, or urgent care facilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding is essential.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient management.
- Basic life support certification is required; additional certifications in areas such as geriatrics or internal medicine are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments, demonstrating adaptability in various medical situations including trauma centers (Level I & II).
- Experience with X-ray procedures and OR assistance is preferred but not mandatory.
