Job Duties:
Common Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
- Scrub in and assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and position patients for surgery
- Assist with draping patients and preparing surgical sites
- Operate sterilization equipment and ensure proper handling of instruments
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures
- Handle specimens according to facility policy
- Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures
- Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning properly
- Follow infection control, safety, and hospital policies and procedures
- Document surgical case information as required
Requirements:
- Technical Diploma from a Surgical Technologist accredited program.
- Certified Surgical Tech (CST) certification is required
- Driver's License
- Eligibility for Surgical Technologist Certification
