Nurse Practitioner – Interventional Pain Management

Location: Cumberland / Hagerstown, MD
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday (No Weekends, No Call)
Salary: $115,000–$130,000 annually, based on experience

Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients with acute and chronic pain conditions in collaboration with our physicians. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, educating patients, ordering diagnostic testing, managing medications within scope of practice, and coordinating ongoing care.

This position is 100% outpatient with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities, providing a predictable Monday–Friday schedule. Similar outpatient pain management roles commonly emphasize collaborative care, comprehensive patient evaluations, and regular weekday hours.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, histories, and physical examinations.
  • Assess and diagnose acute and chronic pain conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Maryland licensure and practice guidelines.
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans as appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with referring providers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing clinical education.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current Maryland Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
  • Excellent clinical judgment and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, PM&R, spine, family medicine, or internal medicine is preferred but not required.
  • New graduates with strong clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
