Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Medical Assistant with strong clinical skills to join our growing medical practice. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable assisting with both routine clinical duties and IV starts for treatments and procedures.
This role is perfect for a medical assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being an important part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Perform IV starts and assist with IV therapy treatments
- Updating and filing patient medical records and chart documentation
- Answering telephones
- Taking medical histories
- Preparing patients for examination
- Assisting the physician during out-patient procedures
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Authorizing prescription refills as directed
- Scheduling appointments
- Providing other services under supervision of Physician and Office Manager
CERTIFICATIONS: IV starts and assist with IV therapy treatments and Medical Assistant course completion preferred but not required.
Clinical on job experience required, bilingual is a PLUS.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Reliable transportation
- Must have excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Extremely efficient, organized and resourceful
- Must also be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills to deal with many personalities
- Must be computer literate with good typing skills
