About the Role:

The Cook-Hourly position is integral to delivering high-quality culinary experiences within the accommodation and food services industry. This role focuses on preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes while strictly adhering to food safety and sanitation standards to ensure the health and satisfaction of all guests. The successful candidate will manage food portions and costs effectively, contributing to operational efficiency and minimizing waste. Additionally, the cook will collaborate with kitchen and banquet staff to support seamless food service during various events and daily operations. Ultimately, this role ensures that every meal served meets established quality and safety standards, enhancing the overall reputation of the establishment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in cooking and food preparation within a professional kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards as required by local health authorities.
  • Ability to manage food portions and understand food cost management principles.
  • Basic understanding of food allergies and dietary restrictions.
  • Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal culinary training or certification from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in banquet operations and large-scale food preparation.
  • Familiarity with bartending and beverage service.
  • Advanced knowledge of quantity and quality cooking techniques.
  • Previous experience working in accommodation and food services industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to standardized recipes and quality guidelines.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safe food handling and sanitation practices to ensure food safety and human health.
  • Monitor and control food portions and quality to manage food costs and reduce waste effectively.
  • Assist in banquet operations by preparing large quantities of food and coordinating with service staff.
  • Identify and accommodate food allergies and special dietary requirements to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Perform regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes to maintain high culinary standards.
  • Support bartending operations when necessary, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations.
