Job Title: Handyman – Window Shade Installer (Manual & Motorized Systems)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Handyman to install window shade systems in high-end residential and commercial properties. This role requires precision craftsmanship, experience with premium materials, and expertise in motorized shade systems and home integration technology. The ideal candidate understands the expectations of luxury clients and delivers flawless, clean installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install high-end manual and motorized window shades, blinds, and custom treatments
- Accurately measure and align installations to ensure a seamless, luxury finish
- Mount brackets, tracks, and hardware on various surfaces with precision and care
- Install and connect motorized shades to low-voltage wiring systems
- Integrate shades with home automation platforms (smart home systems, remotes, apps, voice control)
- Properly connect and configure system components, including processors, power supplies, and shade motors
- Understand and execute wiring layouts that link processors, power supplies, and shades into a fully functional system
- Program, calibrate, and test automated systems to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain clean wire management and concealment for a polished appearance
- Troubleshoot and service existing luxury shade systems and control systems
- Protect client property by maintaining clean job sites and handling materials with care
- Provide white-glove customer service, including walkthroughs and system demonstrations
- Communicate professionally with clients, designers, and project managers
Qualifications:
- Proven experience installing luxury or high-end window treatments
- Strong background in motorized shade systems and home integration technologies
- Demonstrated experience connecting processors, power supplies, and motorized shades
- Solid understanding of low-voltage wiring and electrical fundamentals
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and system schematics
- Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Experience working in high-end residential environments
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and professionalism
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with custom or designer window treatments
- Familiarity with leading smart home systems and integrations
- Carpentry, finish work, or construction background
- Experience coordinating with interior designers or builders
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
Work Environment:
- High-end residential homes and upscale commercial spaces
- Travel between job sites as needed
- Work may involve ladders, lifting, and detailed finish work
