We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and brake repairs to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools to meet specific repair needs or customization requests.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues with sensors, wiring, or electronic controls.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of complex machinery components during repairs or upgrades; perform heavy lifting as required.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience working with heavy equipment in dealership or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and suspension components.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools including wrenches, soldering irons, power tools, and diagnostic scanners.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical systems across various machinery types such as farm machinery and industrial equipment.
- Experience working on Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
