Description
● Underwrite and price complex commercial and auto accounts, including large fleets.
● Analyze underwriting data (loss runs, MVRs, IFTAs, SAFER/CAB reports, etc.) to assess risk.
● Manage and grow a profitable book of business while maintaining underwriting discipline.
● Mentor junior underwriters and provide guidance.
● Collaborate with claims and risk control teams to identify trends and improvements.
● Ensure compliance with underwriting policies, regulations, and state guidelines.

Profile
- A successful Senior Commercial Underwriter should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of commercial auto underwriting experience.
- Professional designations (CPCU, AU, ARM) strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ISO, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and fleet operations.
- Proficiency in underwriting systems, rating tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting principles within the insurance industry.
- Experience with risk assessment and management in commercial insurance.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
