What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic - Bus Garage position at Page County Public Schools?
The successful candidate will work as a Mechanic at the School Bus Garage. Automotive certifications and experience preferred. The successful candidate must possess or attain a VA State Inspector License and CDL license for school bus. The mechanic also must be able to perform functions such as: examine vehicles (cars and school busses) to determine nature of damage/performance, follow manuals and charts in performing mechanical repairs, and be able to troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning vehicles. Skills necessary in this position include use of hydraulic equipment, familiarity with all engine parts (transmissions, differential, air tools, etc.), use of micrometers, calipers and thickness gauges, and other necessary skills needed to keep vehicles operable and safe for use in the public school setting.
This is a 12-month position. Additional salary steps may be awarded for years of experience.
