Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to oversee and optimize inventory levels within our supply chain and warehouse operations. This role involves managing inventory data, coordinating with procurement and logistics teams, and implementing process improvements to ensure accurate stock levels, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of supply chain management principles.
Duties
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP, AS400, or similar systems.
- Conduct regular stock audits, cycle counts, and root cause analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with procurement teams on sourcing strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiations to optimize inventory costs.
- Analyze demand planning data, sales forecasts, and historical trends using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Nielsen to inform stocking decisions.
- Support process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inventory accuracy, reducing waste, and streamlining order fulfillment processes.
- Manage materials handling activities including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and warehouse distribution tasks.
- Utilize data mining and analytics techniques for supply chain analytics, category management, and logistics optimization.
- Assist in developing financial models related to inventory valuation, pricing strategies, and procurement budgets.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock while minimizing excess inventory.
- Implement best practices for materials management and demand planning to support production planning and retail management needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, or inventory control roles.
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as SAP or AS400, and MRP software.
