The Escrap Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, sorting, dismantling, and processing of electronic waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies. This role supports the company’s sustainability goals by ensuring all electronics are properly sorted, categorized, and prepared for recycling or resale. The associate plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, an occasional Saturday
- 1st shift
Accountabilities:
- Safely receive, unload, and inspect incoming electronic waste.
- Sort materials by category (e.g., computers, monitors, batteries, cables) for proper processing or resale.
- Dismantle electronics using hand and power tools while identifying reusable or hazardous components.
- Accurately label and record inventory into the system using provided tools or software.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal e-waste regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.
- Follow all safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any irregularities or unsafe conditions to management immediately.
- Assist with loading processed materials for transport as needed.
- Support team with general warehouse tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in electronics handling, warehouse, or recycling operations preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of electronic components and recycling processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic safety procedures.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass background check
