What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at PADI?

This role is responsible for supporting the full employee journey, from recruiting great talent and creating seamless onboarding experiences, to supporting employees throughout their time with PADI and ensuring thoughtful, compliant offboarding. You’ll also support benefits administration, leave of absence management, and day-to-day HR operations, all while serving as a trusted resource for employees and managers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Recruitment Talent Acquisition
- Own the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer support.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and deliver an efficient, high-quality hiring experience.
- Ensure a positive and engaging candidate experience from application through offer.
- Track recruiting activity and identify opportunities to improve hiring processes and outcomes.
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Coordinate onboarding to ensure new hires feel welcomed, prepared, and connected from day one.
- Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, system access removal, and final documentation.
- Maintain and update employee records, including promotions, transfers, and other employment changes.
- Keep employee documentation accurate, organized, and aligned with company policies and applicable regulations.
Benefits Administration
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits questions.
- Partner with brokers and vendors to resolve issues and ensure smooth program delivery.
- Assist with open enrollment planning, communications, and execution.
HR Data Management & Compliance
- Maintain HRIS data integrity, ensuring employee records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Manage tracking and completion of required employee training programs ensuring compliance and up-to-date records.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
Leave of Absence Administration
- Administer employee leaves of absence in compliance with applicable laws.
- Coordinate with employees, managers, and third-party administrators to manage leave processes effectively.
- Track leave cases, maintain documentation, and ensure timely communication and compliance.
Employee Experience Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions, providing responsive, thoughtful, and solution-oriented support.
- Assist with employee relations matters
- Support employee engagement initiatives, programs, and company events that foster connection and community.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Human Resources, with exposure to multiple functional areas
- Experience working with California-based employees and familiarity with California employment practices.
Skills and Competencies
- Solid understanding of HR best practices and California employment requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate employee questions and challenges effectively.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- People-first mindset with a passion for creating a positive employee experience.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
