The candidate must work well under pressure, is self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Primary Responsibilities
• Prepare individual and business tax returns, with a workload split of approximately 60% individual and 40% business; limited multi-state exposure
• Support off-season client needs, including tax projections, reasonable compensation analyses, and tax notice research and resolution
• Understand financials and make corrections as needed
• Conduct tax research as needed to address complex or non-routine filing scenarios
• Communicate with clients through a variety of channels including secure client portal, e-mail, telephone, and video conference
• Maintain organized and accurate client files in accordance with firm standards and applicable compliance requirements
Qualifications
• Minimum of five (5) years of recent, progressive experience in a public accounting firm
• Active CPA or EA license required
• Deep knowledge of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with clients and colleagues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into clear, accessible guidance for clients
• Proficiency with tax preparation software, accounting platforms, and standard business applications; experience with UltraTax preferred
• Knowledgeable in QBO, Xero is helpful
• Strong organizational skills and keen to attention to detail
