General Description
Maintaining and implementing a comprehensive, company-wide safety/risk management program aimed at reducing and/or eliminating occupational injuries through accident prevention and loss control policies and procedures. In this position, 90% of the work takes place at the Office/Plant.
Responsibilities of Position
· Required to Travel to Job Sites for Safety Inspections.
· Remains Current on Regulatory Issues including OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA and other Government Agencies at All Levels and Implements Company Policies and Training to Ensure Understanding.
· Completes Site Inspections, Hazard Assessment and Abatement, Accident Investigation, Training, and Claims Management.
· Researches and Develops OSHA and Safety Compliance Information.
· Ensures Padgett’s Compliance with Applicable OSHA Safety Regulations.
· Maintains OSHA 300 logs.
· Maintains Medical Monitoring Records and Information.
· Clear Understanding of HIPPA compliance.
· Audits Worker's Compensation Issues, Track, Completes and Files Regulatory Reports Necessary for Our Scope of Business.
· Ensure Safety Supports Production to Meet Schedules.
· Sound Understanding of Steel Fabrication & Erection and Crane & Rigging Techniques and Methods.
· Competency in Interpreting Job Specifications, Document Project Activity and Continuous Learning of New Processes.
· Ability to Follow Instructions and Maintain Logical Follow-Through on all Projects.
· Efficiently Answer Questions regarding Projects.
· Ability to Work in Fast-Paced, High-Volume Environment and Ensure Company Goals and Deadlines are Met.
· Enforce Safety Policy & Protocols.
· Must be Comfortable Working with Union and Non-Union Trades.
· Must be Proficient in Typing on a Computer.
· Must Have or Ability to Obtain OSHA 10, 30, or 500.
· Must be Able to Perform Public Speaking to Groups Ranging from 2 to 50 People.
· Train Others to Cover for You when You are Not Present.
· Must be Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
· Must be Proficient in Adobe Acrobat.
· Assists in Other Areas as Needed.
· Must be Able to Lift Up to 25 Pounds.
Requirements of the Position
· Perform Drug Screening
· Perform First Aid Treatment on Injuries and Assess to Whether They Need More than First-Aid.
· Transport Injured Employee to Medical Clinic for Treatment.
· Provide Customer Required Orientation Training; Computer Based and Stand-Up Lecture; LG&E, Lubrizol, ZEON, ConAgra, GE Appliances, etc.
· Monitor and Review LYTX Brand Dashcam Video via Desktop.
· 3rd Party Vetting Agency/Maintaining Compliance Documents and Data Entry; ISNetworld, AVETTA, TRANE, Contractor Compliance.
· Quarterly MSHA Reports.
· Quarterly and Annual OSHA Reports.
· Annual BLS Reports.
· Post OSHA 300A Log from Feb 1 to April 30.
· Customer Required Pre-qualification Questionnaires.
· Prepare and Maintain Training Documents for Field Workers; Print and Laminate Drug Cards, Prepare Packets of Credentials as Customer Requires.
· Assist Project Estimators in Preparing JHA’s per Customer Request.
· Complete Customer Required Pre-Qualification Questionnaires; Data Entry and Calculations of TRIR, DART, EMR, etc.
· Prepare Training Sessions; PowerPoint, Lecture, Quiz, etc. to Ensure OSHA and MSHA Compliance.
· Perform all Required Training for Employees in Training Room, Outside Hands-on Training for Forklift, Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, etc. Training will also Occur on Certain Jobsites for Customer Review.
· Perform Near-Miss, Incident/Accident Investigation and Reports.
· Answer Customer/Employee Safety Concerns in a Timely Manner, Must have Knowledge of the Job being Performed and Able to Research Information.
· Assist with Acquiring Insurance Certificates as Required by Customer.
· Perform Background Checks for Field Employees per Customer; TRAK-1, Great Lakes Safety Midland MI, Gatefeed/ZEON, Sterling Infosystems/DuPont-Chemours, TWIC/DOW, etc.
· Perform MVR Checks for DOT/Non-DOT Truck Drivers; TRAK-1.
· Perform DOT Drug and Alcohol Violation Checks; Clearinghouse.
· Schedule and Oversee Hearing, Respiratory and Environmental Tests as Required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health or Four to Six Years of Experience in Comparable Levels of Safety and Risk Management.
· Preferred Work History that Includes Welding, Steel Fabrication and Erection, Familiarity with Mobile Equipment such as Forklift, Crane, Aerial Lifts Strongly Preferred.
· Strong Interpersonal, Writing and Presentation Skills including the Ability to Communicate with All Levels of Management and Audiences with Diverse Backgrounds and Educational Levels. Ability to Write Reports, Business Correspondence, and Procedure Manuals.
· Takes Independent Actions and Calculated Risks; Responds Promptly to Customer/Employee Needs, Seeks Opportunities to Improve Processes and Implements Creative Solutions.
· Provides Full Attention to What People are Saying, Respectfully Communicates by Taking Time to Understand the Points Being Made and Asks Questions at Appropriate Times to Obtain Clarification.
· Must have Valid Driver’s License.
