Role Description The Certified Hearing Aid Specialist will work on-site in Bastrop, TX in a full-time capacity, providing personalized hearing care to patients. Responsibilities include conducting hearing evaluations, performing audiometric testing, and interpreting results to recommend appropriate hearing aid solutions and hearing protection products. The specialist will fit, program, and adjust hearing aids and custom devices, educate patients and families on device use and maintenance, and provide ongoing follow-up care and troubleshooting. Day-to-day tasks also involve maintaining accurate clinical documentation, coordinating with other hearing health professionals as needed, and delivering responsive, compassionate customer service.
Qualifications
- Clinical skills in Audiology and Hearing Tests, including the ability to assess hearing needs and recommend appropriate devices and protection.
- Proficiency in Audiometry and related diagnostic procedures to accurately evaluate hearing levels and interpret test results.
- Ability to assess and address Speech-related hearing needs, ensuring optimal communication outcomes for patients.
- Strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on empathetic communication, clear education, and patient-centered care.
- Current certification or licensure as a Hearing Aid Specialist in the state of Texas (or eligibility to obtain), with adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Experience fitting, programming, and troubleshooting hearing aids and custom hearing protection devices, including modern digital and Bluetooth technologies.
- Comfort working in an on-site clinical setting, managing appointments, and maintaining accurate records in practice management or electronic systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or education in hearing healthcare, audiology assistance, or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team, manage time effectively, and support multiple patients throughout the day.
